Unleashed Custom Tuning for Focus ST

Usually a review on a product like this centers on performance gains, but when you buy from Torrie, you can't help but review him. The initial tune from Unleashed is a phenomenal improvement in all aspects even over the sct 93 tune. Awesome throttle response, awesome around town manners, an improvement of 2mpg avg, and not even traction control can keep the the tires from screaming from a wot blast that pulls hard all the way to redline! Now for the man himself. Torrie is cut from a different cloth from the rest of us mere mortals. No matter what time or how annoying the questions were that I emailed him, I never waited more than an 90 minutes for a reply...even on Sunday! I can honestly say that tuning support from Unleashed will play a big role in future vehicle purchases, he's just that awesome with his tunes and customers.

Throttle response (or delivered torque) is more linear, fuel mileage is better and the car feels so much better in general. Throttle response is way sharper/immediate. Stock, you have to push the pedal to the floor to get the full torque demand registered, with this tune it seems full torque (for a given throttle position) is available all the time. I have to re-learn the throttle at anything beyond slow traffic speeds. The slow speed response is near stock (very small throttle opening) so it doesn't bother your commute at all. However, once I get moving I notice i'm on the brakes more as I'm gaining/carrying more speed than what I'm used to (which is awesome). I think the increase in fuel mileage is (partly) because torque/output is more evenly applied whereas the stock tune seems to wait for you to get moving and show some real intent before it allows for much torque. I was running the SCT OTS tune before this and that seemed to be pretty much the stock program with a little more power here and there (mostly the same peaks in the same places it seemed). It's great that the programmer comes with a tune but Torrie absolutely kills it.

The tune provided by Torrie for my ST really untapped a lot of power and performance I had Ben missing out on. Not to mention the responsiveness was probably the best out of anything I've ever bought. Within 10 from purchase, I had my tunes. Support is great and any assistance/clarification I needed was provided promptly. Definitely recommended Unleashed if your looking for great service and great performance!

I had the tune in my inbox within hours of ordering. It was super easy to install (SCT X3) and Torrie's communication was amazingly fast. I have no mods, except a green filter. The tune he sent me totally changed the dynamic of the car. Power delivery is WAY better, way more responsive, and top end is faster, too. Highly recommended as a first mod, esp for the $ to power ration.
